U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Iran with the "full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces" following overnight strikes between Iran and Israel that left eight people dead in residential buildings.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump distanced the United States from what he described as "the attack on Iran tonight," while issuing a stark warning to Tehran.

"If we are attacked in any way, shape, or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before," Trump wrote.

The U.S. president's statement came as tensions escalated between Iran and Israel, with both nations conducting strikes overnight. Israeli reports indicated that eight people were killed when two residential buildings were hit during the exchange.

Despite the military warning, Trump suggested diplomatic solutions remained possible, writing that the U.S. "can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict."
