A Wildberries logistics facility in Russia’s Ryazan region was evacuated Wednesday after a Ukrainian drone attack hospitalized six people, according to regional authorities and the company.
Wildberries and Russ, or RVB, the merged company operating Russia’s largest online retailer, said the warehouse was cleared in line with safety procedures.
“The company’s logistics facility in Ryazan was evacuated in accordance with safety requirements,” RVB said in a statement.
Ukraine did not immediately comment on the attack.
Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said six people were hospitalized following the attack, but none suffered life-threatening injuries.
“At the moment, six people have been hospitalized. There is no threat to their lives, and doctors are providing the necessary medical assistance,” Malkov said on the Max messaging platform.
He later said the air raid alert had been lifted and air defense operations had ended.
The strike was the latest in a series of drone attacks targeting Wildberries logistics centers across Russia in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, warehouses in the Tambov, Moscow, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions were hit, causing casualties and disrupting operations.
A Wildberries warehouse in the Leningrad region near St. Petersburg also caught fire following a Ukrainian drone attack last Friday, according to regional Gov. Alexander Drozdenko.
Drozdenko said the strike hit the company’s warehouse in the Vsevolozhsk district, sparking a fire and injuring three people who were taken to a hospital.
Wildberries said operations at two logistics facilities in the Leningrad region were temporarily suspended after the attack.
The company also said employees at its warehouse in Crimea were evacuated, while none of its staff were injured in that incident.
