The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) has announced a substantial increase in public transportation fares. Prices for buses, taxis, and ferries have risen by up to 22.19%, impacting commuters across the city.

The fare increases were discussed and approved by a majority vote at the UKOME meeting, reflecting the rising operational costs, and significant changes in the cost of living and travel within the city.
