Türkiye’s electric vehicle maker Togg plans to launch its lower-cost T6X model in June 2027, targeting middle-income buyers with a retail price of around ₺1.3 million ($26,936), the company's chairperson Fuat Tosyali said on Monday.
The price stands well below ₺1.9 million for Togg’s cheapest current model, the T10F, and would make the T6X one of the world’s most affordable electric vehicles.
"We are working with all our strength to offer the most affordable vehicle with the best equipment," Tosyali told the state-run Anadolu Agency. "We will launch it at a very competitive price."
The new low-cost model is in the final stages of development, with prototypes being prepared ahead of its planned release next summer.
Togg expects to begin taking orders in June 2027 and start delivering the vehicles by the end of that month, Tosyali explained.
The new model will expand Togg’s existing lineup, which includes the flagship T10X SUV, first delivered to customers in April 2023, and the T10F fastback, launched in Türkiye in September 2025.
Togg expects production to increase as it rolls out new models. Tosyali said the company aims to reach annual production of 150,000 vehicles before introducing a new vehicle segment to the market every year, with a longer-term goal of exceeding 200,000 vehicles annually.
Higher-volume models are expected to help Togg expand its customer base, optimize costs, and reduce the investment allocated to each vehicle, he added.
Togg remained Türkiye’s leading EV brand in the first seven months of 2026, selling 25,848 vehicles, up 30.4% from a year earlier, as the country’s fully electric passenger-car market shrank 9% to 94,046 units.
Turning to international markets, Tosyali recalled that the company entered the German market last year and received stronger-than-expected interest, particularly from the Turkish community.
However, due to issues with consumer financing, the company continues negotiations with German lenders on financing arrangements to facilitate consumer loans for Togg models and make the purchasing process easier for customers, similar to the system in Türkiye.
Togg sold 197 vehicles in Germany during the first half of the year, with 162 units coming from the T10X SUV and 35 from the T10F sedan. The company sold a total of 140 vehicles in Germany throughout 2025, bringing cumulative sales to 337 units.
The T10X and T10F are available in Germany at prices starting from €41,200 ($47,780).
Tosyali also welcomed initiatives by other companies to produce domestic electric vehicles in the country, arguing that additional Turkish brands would add depth to the market rather than simply create more competition for Togg.
"I see this as an enrichment. I never felt otherwise," Tosyali said. "I would be much happier if our numbers increased and this ecosystem grew further, especially the industrial transformation ecosystem in the automotive industry."
