The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) signed two international agreements during the opening days of the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), expanding cooperation with fellow member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and formalizing a new partnership with the United Kingdom Space Agency (UKSA).
The signings took place during the first two days of the congress, which is being held at the Antalya NEST Congress Center under the coordination of Türkiye's Ministry of Industry and Technology, with TUA and SAHA Istanbul serving as co-hosts.
The event is organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), and Anadolu Agency is serving as its "Global Communication Partner."
The first agreement was a framework accord tied to an existing joint CubeSat project coordinated through the Organization of Turkic States, a regional bloc whose members include Türkiye and several Turkic-speaking states in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The new agreement is intended to extend the current collaboration among the bloc's space agencies and lay the groundwork for future joint space projects, according to TUA.
In a separate signing, TUA and the UK Space Agency concluded a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing joint cooperation and future projects in space between the two countries.
IAC 2026 is the latest edition of the International Astronautical Congress, an annual gathering that brings together space agencies, companies and researchers from around the world to discuss developments in space exploration and policy.
This year's congress is being held in Antalya under Turkish coordination, with the two agreements marking part of Türkiye's broader push to deepen its international space partnerships during the event.
