Pop group KATSEYE’s Daniela Avanzini and Megan Skiendiel missed the group’s VIP events in Boston on Oct. 28 because of illness and will not take part in the soundcheck and Q&A session ahead of the show.
The announcement said the two were unable to attend the VIP group photo. It also confirmed that Daniela, Megan, Lara Raj and Yoonchae Jeung would perform at the main concert as scheduled.
The organizers did not say what illness the two members had or when they might recover.
Lara and Yoonchae took part in the soundcheck activities, appearing in coordinated pink outfits. Fans reacted on social media with mixed feelings, and some voiced concern about the group’s health during the ongoing tour.
The Boston date is part of "The Wildworld Tour," which is scheduled to run through a second night in Mexico City on Nov. 28 and spans 31 performances.
KATSEYE’s lineup has been smaller than usual this year. Manon Bannerman has been on hiatus since February, and Sophia Laforteza announced on Aug. 7 that she also needed time off to focus on her mental health.
That left Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae to carry on promotions and the tour.
The group’s management has said it is committed to supporting the two members on hiatus, and Lara said on NBC’s Today in August that the group stands by Sophia and Manon.
KATSEYE was formed through the 2023 audition program "The Debut: Dream Academy" and debuted in 2024 as a six-member group under Hybe and Geffen Records.
