Renowned composer and musician Goran Bregovic is scheduled to perform in Ankara as part of his upcoming Türkiye tour. The concert will take place at the ATO Congresium Grand Hall, where the internationally acclaimed artist is expected to meet his audience with a selection of his well-known works.
Bregovic recently drew attention in Türkiye following his participation in the “2023 Roman Gathering - We Are Writing the Century’s Novel Together” event, where he performed alongside an orchestra and contributed to the “The Century of Türkiye” musical performance.
Born in Sarajevo, Bregovic began his musical career with early bands such as Kodeksi and Jutro before rising to prominence as the guitarist and principal creative force behind the influential Yugoslav rock band Bijelo Dugme. The group became one of the most successful and culturally significant rock bands in the former Yugoslavia.
Following the dissolution of Bijelo Dugme, Bregovic established a successful solo career and gained international recognition for his work in film music.
He composed scores for several acclaimed films directed by Emir Kusturica, including Time of the Gypsies, Arizona Dream, and Underground. His composition work has also been featured in productions such as Queen Margot and The Serpent’s Kiss, which received attention at major international film festivals.
Throughout his career spanning more than five decades, Bregovic has collaborated with numerous internationally recognized artists, including Iggy Pop, Sezen Aksu, George Dalaras, Kayah and Severina.
