Alphan Eseli's "Mutter: The Diary of a Mother," starring Hazar Erguclu, has made its Türkiye premiere at the 33rd International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, where it is competing in the festival's National Feature Film Competition.
The film previously held its world premiere in New York as part of the Escape from Tribeca selection at the Tribeca Festival. Following its Adana screening, "Mutter" is set to move on to the 59th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, where it will take part in the main competition.
Written and directed by Alphan Eseli, the film has built up an international festival run that began at Tribeca before coming to Türkiye for its national premiere.
Its appearance at the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, one of the country's film festivals, places the production in the National Feature Film Competition before it heads to Sitges for another competitive screening.
Erguclu takes on the leading role, while the cast also includes Guven Kirac, Ulvi Kahyaoglu, Erdeniz Kurucan, Cansu Firinci, Incinur Dasdemir, Cem Baza, Bertan Dirikolu and Eylul Dursun.
Produced by ISTANBUL'74—SEVENTYFOUR FILMS, the film is produced by Alphan Eseli and Omer Atay, with Erguclu also serving as a co-producer.
Ozkan Karakose handled the cinematography, while Mesut Ulutas edited the film. Herve Guyader and Cenker Kokten worked on the sound design, with Tristan Bechet composing the original music.
Concept designs were created by Matt Hatton, whose previous work includes "Alien: Covenant" and "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga."
Details regarding the film's theatrical release in Türkiye are expected to be announced soon.
