Turkish actor Baris Arduc has named the three films he loves most, and one of them is an Iranian classic, Majid Majidi’s "Children of Heaven."
The actor also picked Lebanese director Nadine Labaki's "Capernaum" and the American boxing drama "The Fighter." Though the films come from different countries and genres, each centers on characters who press on against long odds.
Arduc stars in "Soy," a mystical horror-thriller that premiered at a gala ahead of its scheduled Oct. 9, 2026, release across Türkiye.
Arduc and co-lead Farah Zeynep Abdullah walked the red carpet with castmates Mehmet Yilmaz Ak, Ozge Ozacar and veteran actor Tamer Levent. Tuba Buyukustun appears in the film as a surprise guest actor. Director Maxime Alexandre, executive producer Saner Ayar and screenwriter Sukru Necati Sahin also attended.
The story follows an ancient curse passed down through generations, whose effects grow stronger as long-buried secrets surface. The film is adapted from an original story by Turki Al Alshikh. It is the first project in Türkiye for production company Rozam.
