A packed lineup of concerts, theater performances, museum programs, and exhibitions is set to draw art lovers across Istanbul this week.
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra's Classical Turkish Music Choir, under the direction of Mehmet Guntekin, will open its 2026-2027 season with a concert titled "Nihavend Kar" on Sept. 20 at the Ataturk Cultural Center (AKM) Theater Hall.
Grammy-winning Latin music legend Gipsy Kings will perform as part of the "Historia 2026 Tour," led by founding member Tonino Baliardo, on Sept. 18 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater.
Teoman, a beloved figure in Turkish rock music, will meet his fans on Sept. 19 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater.
Umur Erdem, one of the newer names in alternative music, will perform for audiences on Sept. 18 at Zorlu PSM Vestel Amphitheater as part of the "City Sounds" series.
Calico, an Ankara-based modern jazz ensemble performing as part of the Turk Telekom Prime AKM Summer Concerts, can be heard on Sept. 16 at the AKM Multipurpose Hall.
"Goethe: East-West Divan," a work composed by Mehmet Cemal Yesilcay and inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, will be presented to music lovers under the direction of conductor Hasan Niyazi Tura on Sept. 20 at the AKM Theater Hall.
The "Mosaic Lamp Workshop," which offers participants the chance to explore the techniques of traditional Turkish mosaic lamp art and create their own personal designs, will welcome visitors throughout the week at the Independent Art Foundation.
"Carnival of Wonders," an interactive family show by illusionist, juggler and circus artist Erdem Obus, will bring children and families together on Sept. 20 at Hilltown Performance Stage.
A three-hour "Tile Workshop," offering participants the opportunity to explore traditional Turkish tile-making techniques and motifs inspired by Istanbul's architecture, will take place throughout the week at Istanbul Workshops - Fabrikafa Make & Coffee.
"EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert," a documentary bringing together rare archival footage discovered from Elvis Presley's 1969 Las Vegas concert series, will be shown on Sept. 15 at Zorlu PSM Vestel Amphitheater.
As part of the same program, "Senna," a documentary chronicling the career and tragic life story of legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, will be shown to audiences on Sept. 20 at Zorlu PSM Vestel Amphitheater.
As part of Istanbul Modern Cinema's new season, a special selection titled "Monsoon Dreams," focusing on Southeast Asian cinema, will present 11 films from the 2020s from the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia to film lovers until Oct. four.
The exhibition "Contact," prepared by the Culture and Civilization Foundation (KUME) and focusing on the work of Giulio Mongeri, the architect of Karakoy Palas, can be viewed at Karakoy Palas until Oct. one.
The "Gaza Without Barriers Art Meetings Group Exhibition," organized to support individuals in Gaza who have lost limbs, will welcome visitors, along with accompanying workshops, until Sept. 27 at the Birlik Foundation Headquarters Exhibition Hall.
The "Serif Muhiddin Targan Exhibition," featuring personal belongings of oud and cello virtuoso, composer and painter Serif Muhiddin Targan, can be seen until Dec. nine at the Beyazit Manuscript Library.
Istanbul Modern's tenth collection exhibition, "Beneath the Same Blue," has opened to visitors at the Dr. Nejat F. Eczacibasi Collection Exhibition Hall.
The photography exhibition "A Dream That Sees Istanbul: Bursa," presenting the historical heritage of Bursa through 87 photographs, can be visited until the end of the month at the Uskudar Mimar Sinan Gallery.
The tazhip, a traditional form of Ottoman manuscript illumination, exhibition "Two Brushes, One Harmony," by artists Ayse Gulcan Ozbalak and Zeynep Ustun, will continue until Sept. 30 at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) New Mosque Hunkar Pavilion.
"Traces and Reflections," a solo exhibition bringing together the works of painter Burcu Araci, will welcome art lovers until Sept. 27 at Esenyurt Art Center.
