Cappadocia draws nearly 58K visitors during Eid al-Fitr

Cappadocia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, experienced a significant influx of visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, with museums, archaeological sites and historical landmarks drawing tourists from across the country.

According to the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, a total of 57,988 visitors explored the region between March 19 and 22.

Renowned for its fairy chimneys, rock-cut churches, underground cities, and rich cultural heritage, Cappadocia continues to attract large numbers of domestic and international tourists.

Must-see attractions in Cappadocia

  • Goreme Open-Air Museum emerged as the most visited site, attracting 15,321 visitors
  • Pasabaglari Monks Valley followed with 13,343 visitors
  • Kaymakli Underground City welcomed 10,690 visitors
  • Derinkuyu Underground City received 7,817 visitors

During the holiday period, occupancy rates in Cappadocia’s accommodation facilities exceeded 80%, while popular sightseeing routes and tour activities experienced high levels of traffic.
