Maye Musk, the 77-year-old model and mother of Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, has arrived in Istanbul for a series of public events tied to her book "When a Woman Makes a Plan."
Her visit, organized by Destek Yayinlari, includes media appearances, a public talk, and a book signing event scheduled for March 17 at D&R Kanyon, where she is expected to meet readers and discuss her life and career.
Shortly after arriving in Türkiye, Musk appeared as a guest on Turkish model Tulin Sahin’s fashion program.
The meeting drew attention in fashion circles, as both women are signed to the same international modeling agencies.
Sahin shared details of their meeting on social media, noting that many viewers were surprised to learn about Musk’s long modeling career.
“Most people don’t actually know that she is a model. We are signed to the same agencies around the world. People who saw us together commented, ‘Two supermodels from different generations have come together,’” Sahin said.
During the visit, Sahin also organized an early birthday celebration for Musk, whose birthday falls in April.
In her social media post, Sahin described Musk as “a real role model” and emphasized her influence as a woman who rebuilt her life and career multiple times. She also highlighted the significance of sharing the same agency abroad, calling it a point of pride.
Musk is set to meet readers at a book signing event on March 17 at D&R Kanyon.
The program will include a conversation moderated by translator and screenwriter Selda Terek.
