Fethiye achieved a score of 70.8 points, making it the leading swim-friendly destination in the Mediterranean. Its protected coves, calm waters, and consistent climate ensure safe and enjoyable swimming for visitors throughout the year. Notably, Fethiye is the first European destination to make the list, highlighting its international competitiveness in coastal tourism.
Tropical destinations such as Gili Trawangan, Indonesia, Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada also Protaras, Greek Cyprus topped the global list.
Fethiye, part of Mugla Province, attracts domestic and international tourists each summer. Key attractions include Oludeniz Beach, famous for its turquoise lagoon, Butterfly Valley, and numerous natural bays offering sheltered swimming environments.
