Türkiye faced a series of devastating wildfires over the weekend, severely impacting the Izmir region.

Tarim ve Orman Bakani Ibrahim Yumakli confirmed that all active fires in the Izmir region had been contained. He highlighted that 44 fires erupted across the country on the same day, with a majority being human-caused.
"We have currently contained all active fires. Many of these fires were caused by human actions, and we are taking severe measures against those responsible," Yumakli stated.
Didim Municipality played a critical role in the firefighting efforts, providing water tankers and heavy machinery to support the operations in Selcuk and Kusadasi.
Mayor Hatice Gencay expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the firefighting efforts and extended her sympathies to those affected by the fires.
