Turkish television series led YouTube's most popular search terms in Türkiye during the first half of this year, with "Tasacak Bu Deniz" topping the list from January to June.
The finding comes from a compilation of Google data, which shows that most of Türkiye's internet traffic flows through YouTube, making the platform's top search queries a useful gauge of public interest.
Türkiye, already known internationally for exporting television series and films, saw that same appetite reflected at home: dramas dominated the list of most-searched YouTube terms.
Five series made the top 10 overall. "Tasacak Bu Deniz," one of the most talked-about recent productions, came in first, followed by "Yeralti."
The word "sarkilar" (songs) ranked third, ahead of searches for "Manifest," "Uzak Sehir," "Minecraft" and "Sevdigim Sensin." The singular form, "sarki" (song), also ranked highly, followed by "Esref Ruya" and "araba" (car).
Compared with the same period last year, several newly launched series climbed straight into the top rankings. "Sarkilar," "Uzak Sehir," "Minecraft," "sarki" and "Esref Ruya" had also featured on the list in 2025.
Looking at "trending queries", terms that saw the sharpest rise compared with the previous period, shows a similar pattern. Alongside the series already in the top 10, searches for "Daha 17," "pilgrims saying 'hu' at the Kaaba," "Survivor," "Delikanli" (Young Man) and "Daha Iyi" (Better) all broke into the list.
Globally, the picture looked different. YouTube's most-searched terms worldwide stayed unchanged from the previous year, with "song," "movie," "video," "songs," and "dj" remaining the top queries.
Türkiye's influence showed up more clearly in the global 'trending queries' list. 'Yeralti', whose companion series was also a hit at home, was the most-searched trending term worldwide from January to June, ahead of 'TikTok mashup 2026' and 'trending music.' "Sevdigim Sensin" and "bairan song" followed close behind.
