Türkiye has exceeded the global average in weekly online media and social media usage, according to data shared by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu.
Citing the “We Are Social 2026” report, Uraloglu stated that while the worldwide average time spent on online media is 33 hours 27 minutes per week, Turkish users spend 41 hours 37 minutes, nearly two full days, on digital platforms.
The minister also highlighted that social media usage in Türkiye is higher than the global average.
The report indicates that the average weekly time spent on social media worldwide is 18 hours 36 minutes, whereas in Türkiye it reaches 25 hours 4 minutes.
Regarding daily usage, Uraloglu noted that Instagram is the most frequented platform in Türkiye, with users spending an average of 1 hour 53 minutes per day, followed by YouTube at 1 hour 28 minutes and TikTok at 1 hour 25 minutes.
