Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 125 Daesh suspects were detained in simultaneous operations across 25 provinces on Wednesday morning.
"Those who target our brotherhood, our unity, our togetherness, those who try to exploit our faith, and those who attack our values will see only the might of our state and the unity of our nation," Yerlikaya said on his X account.
The operations were conducted by provincial gendarmerie commands and provincial security directorates under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command and General Directorate of Security.
Operations were carried out in Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Aydin, Bursa, Eskisehir, Hatay, Kahramanmaras, Mardin, Mersin, Usak, Istanbul, Nigde, Sakarya, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Hakkari, Osmaniye, Izmir, Igdir, Nevsehir, Erzurum, Denizli, Kırklareli, Sanliurfa and Yalova.
Yerlikaya also shared footage from the operations.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Wednesday that 29 suspects were detained in operations targeting Daesh, including 28 individuals who spread terrorist propaganda on social media following the Yalova attack that killed three police officers and one suspect actively operating within the terrorist organization.
The prosecutor's office said simultaneous operations were conducted at 29 separate addresses in Istanbul on Dec. 31.
"All suspects have been apprehended. In searches conducted at the suspects' addresses, three pistols, ammunition, and numerous digital materials and organizational documents were seized," the prosecutor's office said.
"Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will continue its fight against all terrorist organizations with determination and resolve," the statement added.
The operation was conducted by the Istanbul Police Department Counter-Terrorism Branch under instructions from the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau.
Of the 29 suspects, 28 were identified as spreading Daesh propaganda on social media in connection with the Yalova attack that resulted in three police officers being killed in action.
One suspect was determined to be actively operating within the terrorist organization.
Three police officers were killed on Dec. 29 during a Daesh operation in Yalova province when terrorists opened fire on security personnel.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that six Daesh terrorists were killed in the ensuing clashes.
Five women and six children were safely evacuated from the building.
Following the Yalova clashes, simultaneous operations targeting Daesh were conducted across 21 provinces on Dec. 30, resulting in 357 suspects being detained.
The recent operations were launched following intelligence that Daesh was preparing attacks during the New Year and Christmas holiday period.
