Turkish defense manufacturer Roketsan signed two agreements with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) for the joint production of cruise missiles and anti-tank guided missiles during the World Defense Show 2026 in the Saudi capital.

The deals establish a missile production base in the Gulf region, expanding Türkiye's defense industry footprint in Saudi Arabia.

Roketsan signed a cooperation agreement with SAMI, Saudi Arabia's largest state-owned defense company, for the joint production of cruise missiles in Saudi Arabia.

The company described the agreement as representing joint efforts in missile solutions and military technologies that pave the way for next-generation integrated defense systems.

ATGM deal includes sales and technology localization

A separate contract with SAMI Land Systems covers both sales and joint production of anti-tank guided missile weapon systems designed to enhance the operational effectiveness of combat platforms.

"The agreement also focuses on localizing technological expertise within Saudi Arabia," Roketsan said.

Roketsan did not specify which missile types would be produced under either agreement.

The Turkish company has developed a comprehensive portfolio across both missile categories.

Its cruise missile family includes the SOM air-launched cruise missile, SOM-J for F-35 integration, Cakir, and the Atmaca anti-ship missile family.

Roketsan's anti-tank guided missile range spans from man-portable to long-range systems, including Karaok, OMTAS, UMTAS, and UMTAS-GM variants.
