Production and deliveries of Türkiye’s Tayfun ballistic missile and stand-off missile (SOM) are continuing as planned, according to a statement by Roketsan.

The company said serial production and deliveries of both systems are ongoing to support the deterrence capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces, adding that efforts continue without interruption.

Türkiye continues production and delivery of Tayfun and SOM missiles

Roketsan said the Tayfun ballistic missile and SOM cruise missile are being produced and delivered in line with planned schedules.

“From production to delivery, our strength in the field is Taufun and SOM,” the company said, noting that work continues “without slowing down” for national security and stability.

Roketsan General Manager Murat Ikinci said the systems reflect domestic engineering capabilities.

“From design to production, we continue the serial production and deliveries of our systems, which bear the signature of Turkish engineering at every stage,” he said.

Tayfun missile designed for deep strike with high speed and resilience

The Tayfun missile has been developed as a high-reliability system capable of striking targets at depth.

It reaches hypersonic speeds, allowing it to avoid air defense system threats while maintaining high precision to reduce unintended damage.

The system offers a short preparation time before launch, enabling rapid deployment of firepower, along with logistical advantages and operational flexibility.

It also has a high level of resistance to electronic warfare, including protection against global positioning system jamming, and operates effectively in all weather conditions, both day and night, due to low environmental sensitivity.

Described as Türkiye’s longest-range domestically produced ballistic missile, Tayfun is effective against air defense missile systems, lightly armored and unarmored targets, command and control centers, military aircraft hangars, critical military facilities and other strategic targets.

SOM cruise missile provides long-range precision against land and sea targets

SOM is an air-to-surface cruise missile designed to be fired from beyond the range of air defense systems and is suited for heavily defended land and naval targets deep in the battlefield.

With a range of 250 kilometers, SOM can be configured with different warheads and systems and can be deployed from both manned and unmanned air platforms.

The system is capable of engaging fixed land targets, surface targets, strategic facilities, shelters, air defense batteries and naval vessels.

SOM features low radar cross section, low observability and survivability, along with high precision in the terminal phase through an imaging infrared seeker.

It is designed for autonomous use, operable in all weather conditions, and resistant to countermeasures.

The system includes capabilities such as engaging opportunity targets, selectable impact parameters, and advanced mission features, including 3D mission planning, Time on Target (ToT), Designated Time on Target (DToT), Simultaneous Time on Target (SToT), and ripple (salvo) fire.

It also provides target update, re-attack and mission abort capabilities via data link, along with re-attack mode and the ability to engage both land and surface targets from surface and underwater platforms.
