Ongoing Israeli airstrikes and harsh winter conditions are worsening the already severe living circumstances for civilians in Gaza.

A lack of infrastructure and limited aid have led to the flooding of tents sheltering displaced Palestinians due to heavy rainfall, further endangering their lives.

Displaced families struggling to prepare for winter

Displaced families in Gaza are facing significant challenges in preparing for the harsh winter. A severe shortage of essential supplies, such as warm blankets, clothing, and firewood, is making survival even more difficult.

The widespread lack of resources across Gaza is worsening the already critical humanitarian situation.

Civil defense spokesperson reports critical situation

Ahmed Radwan, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Rafah, reported that heavy rainfall has caused numerous tents in the Mawasi area, in southern Gaza, to flood. He highlighted the extreme shortage of basic survival supplies in displaced camps, where many families are without even the most essential necessities.

Radwan also emphasized that the Civil Defense is severely under-equipped and lacks the necessary resources to rescue citizens and protect the shelters. He warned that the combination of heavy rain and ongoing airstrikes is putting the lives of those returning to their destroyed homes at even greater risk.

Approximately 1 million displaced people live in Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, two of the most affected areas.

Heavy rain and winds threaten displaced families

Harsh winter conditions are complicating life further for displaced families in Gaza, as their worn-out tents offer minimal protection against cold and rain.

The ongoing threat of Israeli airstrikes, combined with hunger and freezing temperatures, is making survival increasingly difficult.

Seawater sweeps away tents in southern Gaza

In addition to the heavy rainfall, seawater has swept away tents in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. This has made an already precarious situation even more dangerous for displaced families.

Lack of aid, infrastructure deepens crisis

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen as winter conditions intensify. The shortage of essential supplies and inadequate infrastructure are putting the lives of civilians at even greater risk.

Immediate international intervention is urgently needed to provide aid and address the growing crisis in the region.
