Iran has the capability to target large U.S. vessels with ballistic missiles amid ongoing tensions with Washington, a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander said, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency.
Maj. Gen. Mostafa Izadi, deputy commander of the IRGC, said Iran’s forces possess the capability to strike large enemy vessels with ballistic missiles.
“Today, the fighters of Islam in Iran have the capability to target the enemy’s large vessels with ballistic missiles,” Izadi said.
Izadi also called on countries in the region to work together to provide regional security.
“Our message to the countries of the region is that we must establish regional security together, and they have seen that the enemy’s numerous bases in 12 countries have produced no result,” he said.
His remarks came amid continuing tensions between Iran and the U.S.
Separately, IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said Iranian forces would respond if the U.S. launched an attack on Pickaxe Mountain or any other location.
