Air raid sirens sounded across central Israel on Friday after missiles were launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, according to Israeli media reports.

Sirens were activated in several central regions, including the Shfela, Lachish and Samaria areas, after the launches were detected, the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported. Israeli air defense systems responded and intercepted a limited number of missiles heading toward the country.

Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 said shrapnel from intercepted missiles fell in multiple locations across central Israel.

Explosions reported near Tel Aviv

Explosions were heard around Israel’s commercial hub Tel Aviv after the sirens were triggered, while smoke rose from two separate locations in the area.

Local reports showed thick black smoke rising near a motorway from what appeared to be a warehouse fire. Emergency crews and first responders were dispatched to the scene.

Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service said teams searched sites where impacts were reported but confirmed that no casualties were found.

Iran launches new phase of missile strikes

Iranian media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out the 45th wave of what it described as "Operation True Promise 4."

According to those reports, the strikes targeted Israeli and U.S. positions and involved missiles launched in coordination with Revolutionary Guards naval forces, drone units from the Iranian army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

The exchange comes amid escalating tensions across the Middle East following a joint Israeli and U.S. attack on Iran on Feb. 28.

Iranian authorities said the operation killed around 1,300 people, including then–Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injured more than 10,000 others.
