North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said Türkiye is an important trading partner for his country and underlined the potential to further expand bilateral trade.

Nikoloski made the remarks during a meeting with Fatih Ulusoy, Türkiye’s ambassador to Skopje, according to a written statement from the North Macedonian Ministry of Transport.

Focus on infrastructure and transport cooperation

The meeting highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between North Macedonia and Türkiye, which officials said remain important for both nations.

Nikoloski and Ulusoy reviewed infrastructure projects planned under the government’s investment policy and discussed ways to deepen cooperation in the transport sector.

Calling Türkiye a key trading partner, Nikoloski said there is significant potential to increase the volume of foreign trade between the two countries.

He also stressed the importance of Turkish investments in North Macedonia, noting that the government continues efforts to improve the investment climate and attract further foreign capital.

The meeting also covered current regional and bilateral developments, as well as the high level of cooperation between the two states.

Nikoloski thanked Türkiye for its support to date and said mutual cooperation should be further strengthened in areas that serve the shared interests of both countries.
