Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that overnight Russian missile attacks injured three people in Kyiv, while a drone strike on residential buildings in the Kharkiv region killed one person and wounded nine others, including two children.
One woman was killed and 16 people were injured—including her 10-year-old son—after a Russian S8000 "Banderol" missile struck a Kharkiv neighborhood.
The attack damaged 22 residential homes, outbuildings, and power lines, leaving several residents—including a 17-year-old girl—suffering from acute stress.
Writing on social media platform X, Zelenskyy extended his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, noting that emergency crews were still working to extinguish a fire at a standard hardware hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine intercepted a large portion of the eight missiles and 136 drones launched by Russia overnight. This adds to a heavy week of bombardment, during which Russia fired nearly 1,700 drones, over 1,630 guided bombs, and 95 missiles across the country.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry stated its forces carried out overnight precision strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial facilities in Kyiv as well as infrastructure at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region used to receive and store military cargo and fuel for Ukrainian forces.
