Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed until its conditions are met and the U.S. fulfills commitments under a June agreement that is no longer in force, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said.
Speaking in parliament, Ghalibaf said Tehran had clearly conveyed its conditions and messages to the other side through intermediaries.
“The enemy is well aware that the path of deception and unilateral imposition is closed,” he said.
Ghalibaf said there would be no return to previous negotiations or reopening of the Strait of Hormuz until Iran’s conditions were met, what he described as the Iranian nation’s legitimate rights were recognized, and U.S. commitments were implemented.

According to the semi-official Fars news agency, Ghalibaf said Iran must both fight and negotiate.
He said Tehran would use military force to push back its enemies and diplomacy to consolidate gains made on the battlefield when the time was right.
Ghalibaf reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until the U.S. met Iran’s stated conditions.
