U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Israelis to re-elect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called for Israel to continue its military campaign against Iran until the objectives are met.

In a Sunday post on his Truth Social platform, Trump highlighted his cooperation with Netanyahu during the war, referring to the U.S. military operation against Iran as Operation Epic Fury.

"As everyone is aware, including the enemy, Bibi and I have had a great relationship in winning together," Trump wrote.

Trump warns Israelis against rejecting Netanyahu

Trump claimed the campaign had crippled Iran's military capabilities and economy, citing the loss of its navy and air force, inflation of 301% and a naval blockade that had halted oil exports. He also claimed that two levels of Iran's military and civilian leadership had been eliminated.

"Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister. We have to finish the job that we started!" Trump wrote, urging Israeli voters to re-elect Netanyahu.

The post follows Trump's Oct. 18 endorsement letter, in which he described Netanyahu as a "Great Warrior Prime Minister" and an "even greater Partner for Peace," citing what he called Iran's longstanding threats against Israel and the United States.

Trump claimed Iran had been "systematically destroyed, both militarily and financially" and warned that the United States would have to take over the military effort if Israeli voters elected another leader.

"If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," he wrote.

Trump concluded the letter by praising what he called Netanyahu's resilience in the face of domestic and international opposition and declaring, "BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"

Netanyahu faces tight election race

Israelis are due to vote on Oct. 27 in a parliamentary election that could determine whether Netanyahu remains in power after years of regional conflict and domestic political turmoil.

Netanyahu's Likud party faces a challenge from opposition parties led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party and the Together alliance led by former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.

Polls suggest neither camp is assured of the 61 seats needed for a majority in the 120-seat Knesset, leaving the outcome dependent on smaller parties and post-election coalition negotiations.

The campaign has also focused on Israel's security strategy, exemptions from military service for ultra-Orthodox men, the cost of living and the ongoing Gaza crisis.

Netanyahu is also on trial for corruption, while an International Criminal Court arrest warrant against him has intensified international scrutiny of his leadership.
