The U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack said Washington will not take military action against Hezbollah, either directly or through U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

“We will not move against Hezbollah, neither with our own forces nor through CENTCOM,” Barrack told Sky News Arabia in remarks published Sunday.

Barrack also underlined that Israel would not withdraw from five key positions in southern Lebanon, signaling no immediate change in the regional status quo.

Harsh rhetoric toward Hezbollah, Iran

The envoy described both Hezbollah and Iran as “snakes whose heads must be cut off,” calling for efforts to sever their financing networks. “Hezbollah is our enemy, and Iran is our enemy. We must cut off the heads of these snakes and stop their funding,” he said.

Barrack urged the Lebanese government to take clear steps toward disarming Hezbollah, arguing that words alone would not suffice. “All Lebanon does is talk. There has been no concrete action,” he said.

He claimed Hezbollah has strengthened militarily and economically, alleging the group receives about $60 million in external funds each month.
