Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic is set to arrive in Istanbul on Aug. 12 to complete his move to Besiktas, with the Turkish Super Lig club preparing a three-year contract and a signing ceremony scheduled for 19:03 (7:03 p.m.) on Friday, a time that echoes the club's 1903 founding year.
Vlahovic was initially expected to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon to undergo medical checks and sign his contract. Later reports indicated his arrival could happen closer to the evening.
Besiktas had been working for some time to bring in a center forward and eventually turned to the 26-year-old Serbia international as one of its main targets.
The Istanbul club has reached an agreement with Vlahovic on a three-year contract, with the striker reportedly set to earn €8 million per season.
His arrival would add another high-profile name to Türkiye's top flight during the summer transfer window and further strengthen a Besiktas attack that already brought in Belgian forward Leandro Trossard from Arsenal last month.
The symbolic 19:03 ceremony points back to club's roots
After completing his medical checks and signing the agreement, Vlahovic is expected to be formally presented at Tupras Stadium on Friday, Aug. 14.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 19:03, matching the digits of 1903, the year Besiktas was founded.
Born in Belgrade, Vlahovic came through Partizan Belgrade's youth system before making his senior debut in 2016. He later moved to Fiorentina, where he established himself as one of Serie A's leading forwards and finished runner-up in the league's scoring race in 2022 after netting 24 goals.
His form earned him a move to Juventus in a deal worth more than €80 million. Vlahovic went on to score 68 goals in 168 appearances across all competitions for the Turin club, while the 2024 Coppa Italia was his only major trophy with Juventus.
During his final season, he recorded 10 goals and two assists in 23 matches across competitions, including seven goals from 19 Serie A appearances.
At international level, Vlahovic has scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for Serbia since making his debut in 2020 and has represented his country at both the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024.
