Galatasaray increased its UEFA Champions League income to €53.5 million ($63.15 million) this season after reaching the round of 16 by overcoming Juventus on Wednesday.

The Istanbul club had already generated €42.5 million from direct participation and its performance in the league phase and playoffs, with progression past Juventus adding another €11 million.

Galatasaray close in on €66M UEFA windfall

The Yellow-Reds lost the second leg 3–2 in Italy to the Turin side but secured their place in the round of 16 with a 5–2 home win in the first leg and now await either English powerhouse Liverpool or Tottenham in the next round.

If Galatasaray advances again, its total UEFA earnings this season would reach €66 million.

The current figures mark a sharp increase compared with the club’s previous European campaign, when Galatasaray was eliminated in the Champions League qualifying playoff round by Swiss side Young Boys.

The team then continued in the Europa League but exited in the round of 16 playoff stage against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, finishing that European run with €17.61 million in total UEFA revenue.

Heavy spending backs Galatasaray’s European push

While the Turkish side continues its successful run on the pitch, the club also stands out for its heavy investment, having spent €157.62 million on transfer fees across the 2025–26 summer and winter windows while generating only €18 million in player sales.

This resulted in a net transfer deficit of €139.57 million, placing Galatasaray among the top 10 clubs globally for net spending.

The largest expense was the €75 million transfer of striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, the highest transfer fee ever paid by a Turkish club.

The Nigerian forward has played a central role in Galatasaray’s campaign and is now targeting the UEFA Champions League top scorer title, with 7 goals in 8 matches so far this season.
