Besiktas has added German midfielder Leon Goretzka to its transfer agenda as the Istanbul club looks to strengthen the center of the pitch, with the Black and Whites expected to assess the 31-year-old's salary demands before deciding whether to move forward, according to Sozcu.
Goretzka is currently available without a transfer fee, meaning Besiktas would not have to negotiate a transfer payment with another club if it decides to pursue the midfielder.
After making a strong start to the season, Besiktas is continuing its transfer work and has turned its attention toward players capable of filling both the No. 6 and No. 8 roles, terms commonly used for deeper and central midfield positions.
The club has also opened talks over Auxerre midfielder Kevin Danois, who carries a reported market value of €20 million.
The 22-year-old was put forward to Besiktas through intermediaries, although reports indicate that Danois is not considering a move to the Turkish club.
With the Danois option facing uncertainty, Besiktas has also brought Goretzka into consideration as the club weighs up alternatives for midfield.
The club is expected to look into the German player's salary expectations before determining whether to take the next step in a potential deal.
