Mercedes-Benz has reportedly filed a formal complaint in Italy against Victor Osimhen, according to Italian newspaper Il Giorno.

The report states that the Nigerian striker allegedly failed to meet payment obligations under a luxury vehicle leasing agreement signed in 2023, during his time at SSC Napoli.

The vehicle in question is said to be a hybrid Mercedes GLE. The report claim that unpaid installments accumulated to approximately €90,000, and that the player did not return the vehicle after the lease contract expired.

A representative of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italy also submitted a complaint to the Carabinieri in Milan, and authorities have reportedly started to review the matter.

Italian media reports indicate that the case could fall under the legal category of “appropriazione indebita” (misappropriation), which refers to the unlawful retention or use of property.

As of now, neither Osimhen nor his current club, Galatasaray, has issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The case remains under investigation, and no judicial outcome has been determined.

Osimhen scores on return in Istanbul derby

Despite the off-field developments, Osimhen made an immediate impact on the pitch in the Super Lig. Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahce 3–0 in a high-profile derby, with the Nigerian striker opening the scoring.

The goal came in the 40th minute after Ismail Jakobs delivered a long throw into the penalty area. In a crowded box, Osimhen controlled the ball with his head before striking it with his knee, sending a short effort into the net to give his side a 1–0 lead.

The match marked Osimhen’s first start after approximately six weeks on the sidelines due to injury, and he returned by finding the back of the net immediately.
