Real Madrid is reportedly interested in Edin Dzeko, who has left Fenerbahce after his contract expired, according to Spanish media reports.
Defensa Central, a source close to Real Madrid, revealed that the club is considering bringing in Dzeko.
The report stated that newly appointed Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso wants to strengthen the bench with experienced players, eyeing seasoned forwards like Ante Budimir and Edin Dzeko.
Alonso reportedly wants a veteran striker to play a role similar to Joselu’s last season.
Although the club does not want to spend heavily on forwards, it is willing to fulfill Alonso’s request.
Officials are expected to focus on players who will accept a backup role without causing problems, but can also contribute effectively when needed.
Real Madrid representatives are expected to hold talks with Dzeko in the coming days.
During his two seasons at Fenerbahce, Dzeko scored 46 goals and provided 18 assists in 99 appearances.
