Turkish judokas finished the Sarajevo leg of the Judo European Cup with eight medals, taking three gold, three silver and two bronze medals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The results also carried Türkiye to the top of the team standings, marking a strong overall performance for the national squad in the competition held in the capital, Sarajevo.
Türkiye’s gold medals came from Hilmi Mucik in the men’s 66-kilogram category, Recep Ergin in the men’s over-100-kilogram category and Tuana Gulenay in the women’s 78-kilogram category.
Their victories gave the Turkish team a strong base in the medal table and helped the squad build up momentum across both men’s and women’s divisions.
Turkish athletes also picked up three silver medals. Emirhan Karahan finished second in the men’s 60-kilogram category, while Erman Gurgen took silver in the men’s 81-kilogram category. Ozlem Yildiz added another silver medal for Türkiye in the women’s 63-kilogram category.
The bronze medals came from Emir Selim Ari in the men’s 90-kilogram category and Munir Ertug in the men’s over-100-kilogram category.
With medals spread across several weight classes, Türkiye closed out the Sarajevo event at the top of the team rankings.
