A unique blend of sport and history is drawing thousands of fans to the ancient coastal setting of Kas, Antalya, where public screenings of national football team matches are being held at the 2,000-year-old Antiphellos Ancient Theatre.
Following the success of the first broadcast, authorities have confirmed that upcoming fixtures against Paraguay and the United States will also be shown at the historic venue.
Following strong public interest in the first screening of the match against Australia, the event drew significant attention both on-site and online.
Organizers reported that approximately 5,000 people watched the game at the ancient theater, while more than 10,000 visitors traveled to Kas for the occasion.
Mustafa Erman Gunay, head of the Kas Tourism Promotion Association, stated that the overwhelming response led authorities and organizers to continue the event series.
He noted that the screenings created a unique atmosphere by combining a historic venue with a modern sporting experience, attracting wide social media engagement and boosting local tourism.
Due to the high demand, the upcoming national team matches against Paraguay and the United States will also be broadcast at the same historic venue. Local hotels and tourism businesses have reportedly seen strong booking interest ahead of the events.
Organizers also indicated that if the national team advances beyond the group stage, future matches may continue to be shown at the ancient theatre, depending on logistics and public demand.
