President Erdogan condemns armed attack on AK Party's Istanbul Kucukcekmece district mayor candidate which heavily injured 1
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a statement on his "X" social media account after an armed attack took place during the election campaign of AK Party Kucukcekmece Mayor Candidate Aziz Yeniay in Kanarya Neighborhood for the local elections to be held on March 31.
The statement included the following:
"I condemn the armed attack carried out during the election campaign of Aziz Yeniay, the mayoral candidate of our AK Party and People's Alliance in Kucukcekmece, and wish a speedy recovery to our seriously wounded citizen.
A comprehensive investigation into the attack was initiated immediately. We will never allow the efforts to poison the election process by those who cannot tolerate the healthy progress of the election process in a manner befitting our democracy.
No attack on our democracy, unity and solidarity will ever achieve its goal."
