Postponing the PKK/YPG elections is not enough for Türkiye: Sources

Northern Syria’s so-called elections, organized by PKK/YPG-linked groups and opposed by Türkiye, were postponed but this did not satisfy Türkiye. Ankara demands the complete cancellation of these elections.

Sources from the Ministry of National Defence emphasized the necessity of canceling these elections entirely. “These so-called elections must be canceled entirely. Accepting such a situation is out of the question.”

Ministry sources said, “Regarding the so-called elections planned in Northern Syria by the terrorist organization PKK/PYD/YPG/SDF, our President and Minister have issued the necessary warnings. These so-called elections must be completely canceled. Accepting such a situation is out of the question.”
