Europe's largest tech company, Germany-based software firm SAP, plans to maintain Türkiye as a strategic focal point in its global expansion efforts, a company executive said on Monday.
"Although I can't share specific plans at this time, I can comfortably say that Türkiye will continue to be an essential part of our expansion strategy," Manos Raptopoulos, President of Revenue for Asia Pacific, Middle East, Central and Southern Europe at SAP, said.
Speaking during an interview with state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Raptopoulos highlighted Türkiye’s geographic advantage as a bridge between cultures and commended the adaptability of local firms operating under challenging economic and competitive conditions.
"What I find most impressive about Türkiye is the adaptability of its companies," he noted. "Even when faced with economic pressures or intense competition, Turkish firms consistently manage to grow and expand."
He added that companies in Türkiye seek not only to use technology but to do so in a cost-effective, predictable, and flexible manner.
"They are highly demanding in how they want to utilize technology, which is why we closely follow Türkiye’s vibrant and dynamic business ecosystem."
Founded in 1972, SAP is the world’s largest vendor of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, a category of systems that centralizes core business data and processes across departments.
The company offers a broad suite of enterprise solutions designed to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and enable real-time business transformation.
SAP Türkiye alone supports over 1,600 companies in their digital transformation and projects 35% annual growth in the country’s cloud market.
As of 2024, the company reported approximately €34 billion in total revenue and employs more than 110,000 people across 150 countries.
