The Grammy-winning pop icon Ariana Grande released her eighth studio album, "Petal," Friday, marking a long-awaited moment for fans.
Her new album "Petal" is the first full-length release since the end of her "Wicked" run and her 2024 release ''Eternal Sunshine,'' and on it, she turns inward across 12 tracks.
Ariana Grande has reunited with producers Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh for her new album, ''Petal.'' A follow-up to her 2024 release ''Eternal Sunshine,'' the entire project was written, performed, and produced exclusively by the three creators.
The lead single, ''Hate That I Made You Love Me,'' gave listeners a preview of the album ahead, carried by its reception and its hook. The song went on to become Grande's 10th chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album's 12 tracks move between two main lanes, a shoegaze-tinged, moodier undertone running through songs like "Kiss Me," "Nowhere, Nobody," and "Bad Thing (Bunny Hop)," alongside more straightforward pop and candid songwriting on tracks like "Stay" and "Oh Well." R&B also surfaces, notably on "Big Feelings."
According to Billboard, the record feels more grounded than Grande's earlier work, carrying small pockets of joy and personal honesty beneath the production.
Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine Tour kicked off June 6, 2026, her first headline run in seven years, and spans 41 shows across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. before wrapping Sept. 1 at London's O2. With ''Petal'' landing mid-tour, some of its songs could work their way into the remaining setlists.
