Turkish actress Aybuke Pusat has been cast as the female lead in "Esref Tek," an upcoming action series starring Cagatay Ulusoy, according to reports from industry sources.
Pusat will play a character named Derin in the eight-episode digital series, which is set to stream on Prime Video.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the coming days.
The casting ends weeks of speculation over who would join Ulusoy, one of Türkiye’s best-known leading men, in the production.
The role calls for extensive action sequences, and producers had reportedly been searching for an actress with the physical skills to handle them.
"Esref Tek" is produced by TimBi, the company led by Timur Savci and Burak Sagyasar. Uluc Bayraktar will direct, and the script is written by Ethem Ozisik.
Ulusoy and Pusat previously shared the screen in "Medcezir," the drama series in which both appeared about 12 years ago.
Pusat has since built her reputation in action roles, earning praise from viewers for her performance in "Teskilat," a popular Turkish series about intelligence operatives.
The production company has not yet released further details about the plot or a premiere date.
Turkish television series have become increasingly popular with international audiences in recent years, with streaming platforms investing in local productions that can reach viewers well beyond Türkiye.
