The late Rob Reiner has won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in ''The Bear,'' an honor presented at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The win comes nine months after Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed at their Los Angeles home.
Reiner faced tough competition at the 78th annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.
His performance as Albert Schnur on Tonnato, a 2025 episode of ''The Bear,'' was nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category alongside performances by Connor Storrie, Michael J. Fox, and more.
"It's appropriate to stand for this one," said Wendi McLendon-Covey, the St. Denis Medical actress who presented the award alongside co-star David Alan Grier.
"I know we all wish Rob could be here tonight to share in the celebration. I'm honored to accept this Emmy on his behalf."
The category also featured Fox, Storrie of ''Saturday Night Live,'' Brett Goldstein from ''Shrinking,'' Hamish Linklater of ''Widow's Bay,'' and Christopher McDonald from ''Hacks,'' alongside Reiner.
While ''The Bear'' has historically dominated at past Emmys and Creative Arts Emmys ceremonies, the show came up short this time in the cinematography, editing, and sound mixing categories.
This marks Reiner's third career Emmy. He first won for portraying Michael Meathead Stivic on ''All in the Family'' in 1974, then took home a second trophy for the same role in 1978.
More recently, he picked up two nominations in 2024 for directing the documentary ''Albert Brooks: Defending My Life.''
