Turkish drama "Uzak Sehir" has moved to the top of the daytime television ratings in Italy and Colombia, building up strong audience shares in both markets under localized titles.
The series reached a 26.8% audience share in Italy—the percentage of people watching television at the time—while its Colombian premiere brought in a 50.2% share.
"Uzak Sehir" began airing on Italy's Canale 5 on June 3 under the title "Far Away" and has since become the leading program in the afternoon slot.
The weekday series reached a record audience share of 26.8%, after starting its Italian run with 21.4%. Over its first two months, the drama increased its performance by more than five percentage points.
"Far Away" also drew nearly 1.92 million viewers and maintained an average audience share of 22.9%.
The series also made its Colombian debut last week under the title "Ciudad Lejana," meaning Distant City.
Its first episode recorded a 50.2% audience share and a 4.0 rating, marking the strongest daytime television opening of the year in Colombia. The result also made it the most successful debut by a Turkish series in the country so far in 2026.
"Uzak Sehir" follows Alya Albora, who travels from Canada to the Albora family's lands in Mardin with the body of her late husband and her five-year-old son to carry out her husband's final wish.
After arriving, Alya discovers that she cannot simply leave. Cihan Albora, the head of the family, supports her as she struggles to adapt but refuses to allow her to take her son away.
As Alya comes up against her husband's relatives, she begins to uncover secrets from the past and confront the realities surrounding the Albora family.
Produced by Ayna Yapim, the series is led by Ozan Akbaba and Sinem Unsal. Kerem Catay and Lale Eren serve as producers, while Gulizar Irmak wrote the series.
Production is expected to get underway soon for the third season, which is scheduled to return to Kanal D with new episodes in September.
