The Interior Ministry's Gendarmerie and Police Motorcycle Team took part in celebrations marking the 955th anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory in Bitlis' Ahlat district, adding colour to the events with their performances.
The Recep Tayyip Erdogan Nation’s Garden in the district’s Carho area, home to the Sultan Alparslan Tent, is hosting various events for the anniversary of the historic victory.
The Gendarmerie and Police Motorcycle Team gave acrobatic displays during the celebrations, providing thrilling moments for those attending.
Riding standing up while unfurling Turkish flags and forming human towers to salute the crowd, the officers drew applause for their difficult maneuvers.
Spectators who filmed the displays on their phones later rode around the grounds on the back of the officers’ motorcycles.
Belkis Ademoglu told Anadolu Agency that riding on one of the police motorcycles had been an exciting experience.
Thanking the officers, Ademoglu said: “I was scared the first time I got on, but then I got used to it. The events here are going very well and we welcome everyone. We celebrate the Battle of Manzikert every year. We attend the events with our families, and people come from other provinces too.”
