Spanish rider Marc Marquez of the Ducati Lenovo team finished first in the San Marino Grand Prix, the 14th round of the MotoGP World Championship.
The 14th race of the season was held over 27 laps at the 4.23-kilometer International Misano Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Rimini, Italy.
With three Spanish riders on the podium, Marc Marquez finished ahead of his rivals with a time of 41 minutes and 13.01 seconds, securing his fifth race win of the season.
Marquez also tied his points total with Jorge Martin in the overall standings, sharing the lead.
Alex Marquez of BK8 Gresini Racing finished second, 0.657 seconds behind the leader, while Red Bull KTM's Pedro Acosta finished third, 2.326 seconds off the pace.
Toprak Razgatlioglu of the Prima Pramac Yamaha team finished the race 28.031 seconds behind the leader, placing 12th.
Razgatlioglu, who holds the title of the first Turkish athlete in MotoGP history and rides for Red Bull, sits 21st in the overall standings with 18 points collected across 14 rounds.
The 15th round of the season, the Austria Grand Prix, will take place on Sept. 20.
MotoGP is the premier class of motorcycle road racing and forms part of the wider Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Championship, organized annually by the sport's governing body.
The season consists of a series of races held at circuits across the world, with riders competing on prototype motorcycles built specifically for the category. Points are awarded based on finishing position in each race, and the rider who accumulates the most points by the end of the season is crowned world champion.
With the standings currently led by Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin on level points, the closing rounds of the season are expected to play a decisive role in determining this year's title.
In the current standings, Marquez and Martin share the lead of the MotoGP World Championship with 274 points each, followed by Marco Bezzecchi in third with 241 points, Fabio Di Giannantonio in fourth with 223 points, and Pedro Acosta rounding out the top five with 209 points. Razgatlioglu sits 21st in the overall classification with 18 points.
