Mauro Icardi is not interested in returning to Argentina after leaving Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray, according to his agent Elio Pino, who said the striker could settle on his next destination at any moment.
The 33-year-old Argentine forward became a free agent after his contract with Galatasaray expired, bringing his four-season spell in Türkiye to an end. Although several clubs have been linked with him, his next move has yet to be confirmed.
Pino played down reports connecting Icardi with River Plate, one of Argentina's leading football clubs, and confirmed that no talks had taken place.
"We have not spoken with anyone. Mauro is not interested in playing in Argentina," Pino said.
His comments effectively rule out an immediate return to Icardi's home country as the striker considers opportunities elsewhere.
Italian club Como has also emerged as a possible destination, although Pino did not confirm negotiations with the Serie A side.
He said Icardi's representatives were weighing up several possibilities and could soon make a final call.
"We are evaluating the best option. There are several possibilities that we need to review. We could make a decision at any moment," he said.
Icardi leaves Galatasaray after recording 77 goals and 25 assists in 134 appearances across four seasons.
