Augsburg midfielder Robin Fellhauer scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, finding the net five seconds into his side’s match against Bayern Munich on matchday five.

The 28-year-old German capitalized on a mistake by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer at WWK Arena, putting Augsburg 1-0 up.

Augsburg’s Rodrigo Ribeiro also scored, while Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown replied for Bayern. The game ended 2-2.

Previous record stood at nine seconds

The previous Bundesliga record stood at nine seconds, set by Karim Bellarabi in 2014 and matched by Kevin Volland in 2015. Fellhauer’s goal is four seconds quicker.

The Bundesliga is Germany’s top-flight football league. Augsburg is a city in Bavaria, southern Germany, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) northwest of Munich, where Bayern is based.
