Jhon Duran, the 22-year-old Colombian striker who joined Fenerbahce on loan in the summer of 2025, is set to join Russian side Zenit FC after a turbulent season in Türkiye.
Under the agreement, Duran is expected to move to Zenit until the end of the season, with a €35 million ($41.38 million) option that could make the transfer permanent.
The young striker is said to be in St. Petersburg and to have completed his medical checks, with Zenit expected to announce the deal on Saturday.
Thus, the young striker is set to join his sixth club despite his age, with total transfer fees paid for him reaching €108.2 million, as questions over discipline have followed him alongside his talent and on-field output.
After breaking out at Chicago Fire, Duran joined Premier League side Aston Villa in 2023, where his form drew attention before he moved to Saudi club Al Nassr for a record fee of €77 million. During his time in Saudi Arabia, he was also linked in reports to a dispute with world star Cristiano Ronaldo and other disciplinary issues.
After arriving at Fenerbahce on loan, Duran suffered bone inflammation that sidelined him for nine matches.
He was unable to secure regular playing time after returning, despite Morocco striker Youssef En Nesyri struggling for form, but he still delivered moments that stood out for fans, including a winning goal against Besiktas and a late equalizer against Galatasaray.
Across his club career, the Colombian forward has made 194 official appearances, scoring 54 goals and providing 14 assists. At Fenerbahce, he recorded five goals and three assists in 21 matches.
